Inspiration Of The Day: ForMyDarling

Awwww can't believe what I found, so cute. And it's from Finland! ForMyDarling Etsy-shop. Perfect for the autumn.

And those who have wondered about the last post, I got the red one. Since I missed the black dress, 'cos somebody had just bought it when I had my payday. But luckily the red one is stunning, though when it arrived it was little big for me, but it´s already fixed and perfect. <3 Now I´m wondering about the hairdo..a Chignon, maybe? Two weeks to go..can´t wait. Never had my hair done in hairdresser's, (always done it myself), so I´m little nervous about that too. :)

What To Wear To a Wedding? Help needed.

I haven´t been in a formal wedding in ages, as most of our friends has had a civil marriage and small reception for friends like we did. Although I have many beautiful dresses in my wardrobe, none of them are quite formal, and now we´we been invited to a wedding including church, a tram ride, boat ride and then a dinner reception by the sea afterwards. And I´m in trouble.

I´ve picked up a couple choices from Etsy, and really can´t decide..So the question for you is, which of these dresses do you like the best (actual dress or just the style), for a more formal wedding guest dress? The vote is yours:

This 50´s silk dress was even described as a "wedding guest dress", and I think it´s is very elegant. Would look great with my ginger hair..
This red and black brocaded wiggle dress is stunning also, stylish but not too "royal ceremony"-like.
This is more plain and simple, yet formal enough and suitable for a wedding. I´d wear this maybe with black accessories, gloves and all..
And the last but not least, a more colourful piece, a beautiful 50's dress with blue and lilac roses.

So what do you think?

Thrift Finds: July

Here's a few of my thrift finds of the month. Only a few, 'cos some are already in the fleamarket bags ready to be sold, and the rest I´ve forgotten, for they have yet become parts my everyday life. But I´ll just add them to the next thrift post, if I remember them later! All the finds from Berlin aside, they are (poorly) pictured in the previous post.

Edit: I even forgot to post one of the pictures! Couple dresses added.. :)

Lovely crocheted collar on this 50´s woollen wiggle dress. It´s a bit small, sized more like extra small, but otherwise it fits perfectly and has a lot of fabrik in the seams, so I´ll take it out a bit to fit me. And cost only five euros this one. <3

Couple of books, new one from Paulo Coelho for 2e, and The Baskerville Hound only for 1 euro.

I´ve been looking for a backbag, and this ugly kinda beautiful forest green thing was the one right when I saw it. The small handbag has become my everyday bag now, it goes with everything.

These 60's-70's Finnish dresses were part of a bigger find, and was ment to be sold. When they didn't go in the first event, I made the mistake to try them on, and well..they fit so perfectly, I had no other choice but to keep them.

New in the kitchen are those green dessert bowls and the two-tier wooden tray. I seem to have somekinda fixation on all things green nowadays..

Berlin, a Week Long Weekend

Our week in Berlin. Hope I had better pics, but all the good ones are with Anna in the lovely countryside of Mikkeli, where there's no computer or wlan, so you'll have to do with these.

In a nutshell Berlin was lots of food, "apfelschorle", "Hefeweissen" and shopping in secondhand stores, or just wandering around sultry hot city. Couple of stormy evenings was spent in our top floor flat in Kreuzberg, with more wine and some damn delicious cheeses, and one watching a movie in a little cosy movietheater. Our neighborhood was very lively, I loved the fact that we even had a bakery just downstairs, there seemed to be one in every corner.  Many of our destinations were in the walking distance, like that one hat"gallery" we spent a small fortune in, and ate yammy waffels with icecream afterwards in the cafe right next to it. I´m missing Berlin so much already! But well, at least when you can't go back right away, you can look at the photos. Here's snapshots of our trip from the start:

Dinner at Juttutupa with Anna's friends, at whose flat we slept the nights before and after our flights, many thanks H & R! :)

Breakfast at the airport. That rhubarb thing with creamy yoghurt and oat crumbles was awesome

First meal in Berlin, falafels and Halloumi cheese. Anna didn't get to wear that jacket much after that, it was such a sweaty hot weather, swimwear would maybe have been the best choice in clothes most days there..

Our flat, and us getting ready for another whole day spent in -U-bahn stations, restaurants and shops, hanging around the city.  Lots of reading maps (and Anna making funny faces <3).

And yes, some extra weight was gained, to the bag (which actually broke to pieces on the way home, but that is a completely different story then.. :D) and to my waist too, but it was worth it to the last bit. And so much was left to see, so till the next time, Berlin! <3

June in Pictures

Hey all. I Have been as lazy as promised what comes to writing, but here's a sneak peek to my June in Instagram pics. For the next month I have my summer vacation, so I may be more active here..well, after our trip to Berlin next week! This weekend is busy too, we have a wedding to attend to today, lots of packing for Berlin, and to top that, Ulver is going to his first dog show on Sunday!

So here´s what I´ve been up to for the last month:

Waking up early with this fellow sniffing my toes and licking my face. No alarm clocks needed.

Jogging with this new mini thingie, and sometimes with Ulver too. Don´t know how I have survived without a mp3 for son long, since the plug for the earplugs in my Iphone has been dead for ages.

Seeing friends I don´t see that often. Luckily we have great plans for the summer holidays, including a chimneyless sauna in a most naturally beautiful place and some suspicious little pubs too........

Sitting in the train on work trips to Helsinki. I love trains and I love Helsinki even more, so not a bad thing at all! And next Monday we have whole day to spend there with Anna, before the plane leaves early in Tuesday morning.

Then of course some hanging out and partying with these lovelies. Look at Laura in the picture in the middle, isn´t she such a beauty!

Finished my balcony springproject, or almost, I haven´t found the perhect solution for padding the daybed..but it can wait, a blanket and a couple of cushions has been enough this far. Shopping in a gardenstore got a little bit out of hand, and I bought a lot of greens for the inside too..but it makes home much more cosy don´t u think? And I´m so happy I have a place to sit outside at home, don´t know how I have survived without one.

And spending a lot of time with Anna, although could have seen her even more. But well, next week will be all about her and Berlin 24/7. Mmm, food, second hand stores and the city it self, can´t wait! Most of the pics above are from our Midsummer in Mikkeli.

Have a great weekend u too! :)
